Electrical Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Engineering Services team as a subject matter expert in Electrical and Communications services.

About the Role
  • A high level of technical expertise, excellent communication and coordination skills, and strong stakeholder management capabilities are essential for this position.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for design engineering functions, project delivery, and ensuring compliance with scope, specifications, and relevant standards.
  • The role also involves acting as a Project Engineer for development projects, including ultimate responsibility for the delivery of all design, documentation, estimates, tender reports, administration, programming, and financial control.
  • Ongoing enhancement of engagement and organisational effectiveness through initiative contributions.
  • Researching and investigating innovation and emerging technologies to develop sustainable engineering design solutions.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest Australian standards, international standards, regulations, best practices, and guidelines in relevance to the field of expertise.
  • Reviewing existing systems and processes to develop new ideas and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field are required.
  • Solid industry experience, preferably with consulting experience, is necessary.
  • Experience in designing Electrical (Low voltage and high voltage systems), Communications (Fibre and copper structured cabling infrastructure), Lighting Design is crucial.
  • Negotiating and liaising with Electrical authorities, Telecommunications and Mobile carriers is essential.
  • On-site experience for reviewing constructed systems for compliance to design specifications is required.
  • Previous project management experience in a construction environment is desirable.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD software, experienced with using Bluebeam or other PDF editors.
