Electrical Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join our team in a senior role. As a member of our building engineering services team, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the design of medium voltage systems specific to our data centre projects.

This is a senior position that requires strong knowledge of MV systems and relevant Australian Standards. You will be responsible for detailed design, leading and delivering concept and detailed design of MV substation primary systems, and producing SLDs, HV substation layouts, equipment/materials lists, clearance checks, and short circuit force calculations.

You will also be responsible for carrying out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender and contract on site supervision, ensuring projects are undertaken in accordance with design briefs and that completion deadlines are achieved.

Liaising with the design team to produce coordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard is another key aspect of this role.

You will provide positive contribution to design/project meetings, maintain regular 'in house' design reviews and checks, monitor and control project progress, design variations and project financial budgets.

Maintaining excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business is essential in this role.

Pursuing new business opportunities where appropriate with existing and new clients is also expected.

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis, a minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems), Professional Engineer (PE) license, and extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.

You will also have strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software, as well as an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
