Collection Development Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to shape the library's collections, working closely with experts and community groups to develop relevant resources for diverse audiences.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Selecting and acquiring materials that meet community needs, including languages other than English and digital formats.
  • Partnering with subject matter experts to refine collection profiles, document acquisition procedures, and deliver training to library staff.
  • Driving collection development initiatives that enhance offerings and respond to emerging trends and community needs.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and supervision as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Library and Information Management, along with relevant experience in collection development and acquisitions.
  • Strong financial management skills, including purchasing, invoicing, and budget monitoring.
  • A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in collections.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
