Academic Position in Mechanical Engineering

The University of Queensland is seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our team as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to the development and delivery of programs and courses in mechanical engineering, while also pursuing their own research interests.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching: Contribute to the effective development and delivery of programs and courses in mechanical engineering, including coordinating courses, preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and practicals, and undertaking assessment and marking for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework courses.
- Research: Work with colleagues and Higher Degree by Research students in the development and conduct of joint research projects and applications for competitive research funding support, and contribute as chief investigator role in applications for external research funding.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Contribute to the supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, and manage employee performance by providing coaching, feedback, and training.
- Citizenship and Service: Actively develop partnerships with colleagues, industry, government departments, professional bodies, and the wider community, and exhibit leadership through mentoring, collaboration, and efficient management of internal service roles.
- A PhD in mechanical engineering and a record of research in mechanical engineering.
- A growing profile in teaching and research in the field, with a developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals.
- Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining, and managing external research funding.
- Evidence of a high level of quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
