About This Role

This specialist will work closely with clinicians and internal stakeholders to achieve targets, secure successful audits, and provide ongoing guidance.

You will be a valued member of a highly skilled team working in a bright, collaborative environment, utilising our user-friendly Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to uphold the highest standards in clinical coding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering targeted education and training to enhance the proficiency of the coding team
  • Conducting coding audits to ensure accuracy and quality of clinical coding and documentation
  • Collaborating with clinicians and clinical documentation specialists to achieve targets and secure successful audits
  • Providing ongoing guidance and support to internal stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Completed recognised clinical coding qualification through HIMAA, Latrobe or similar
  • 5+ years' experience in Australian Coding Standards (ICD 10 AM, ACHI, and ACS)
  • 3+ years' experience in coding education and audit experience in a tertiary level hospital
  • Demonstrated experience using 3M Codefinder and extensive knowledge of casemix and clinical coding
  • Ability to prioritise workload to achieve key performance indicators and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & oral), with proven experience interacting with clinicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Exceptional eye for detail and organisational skills
