Aboriginal Community Services Support Role

We are seeking a dedicated support practitioner to join our team in Hervey Bay & Maryborough – Fraser Coast. In this role, you'll be instrumental in delivering culturally safe, inclusive and empowering services to First Nations communities.
The successful candidate will provide case management and tailored support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families, building strong community partnerships with agencies, carers and families to create sustainable support networks.
You will deliver culturally inclusive programs that promote healing, resilience and well-being, and have the ability to work sensitively with diverse communities.

About You:- You are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person (a genuine occupational requirement).
- You have a degree qualification in social work, psychology, social science or a related discipline (or equivalent level of expertise).
- You have applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks, including knowledge of the Child Protection Act 1999.
- You have a demonstrated ability to complete assessments for care and a deep understanding of the contemporary challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- You have experience in child protection, community services or supporting vulnerable children and families.
- Current driver's licence – P2 minimum
- Current National Police Certificate, Working with Children (Blue Card), Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS)
