The Fraser Coast region is seeking a skilled and dedicated Indigenous healthcare professional to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering culturally appropriate and patient-centred healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.

Job Description:

As an Indigenous healthcare professional, you will be responsible for providing holistic healthcare services to clients in the Fraser Coast region. Your role will involve conducting health checks, screenings, and immunisations, as well as delivering health education and promotion programs to the community.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Formal qualification as an Aboriginal Health Worker or Aboriginal Health Practitioner or working towards
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the healthcare or community services sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
  • Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, health beliefs, and practices
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, culturally safe, and client-centred healthcare
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

This is a permanent full-time position, rostered between Maryborough, Hervey Bay, and the mobile clinic that services the surrounding townships. The successful candidate will have a current driver's licence and be willing to travel within the local area.
