About the Role

Enhance Hobart's parks and open spaces through strategic planning, contractor coordination, and community engagement.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage external contractors to ensure compliance with City of Hobart standards and specifications.
  • Create a park care program, liaising with community groups and organising weekend activities and rosters.
  • Maintain inspection programs for green assets and contribute to long-term park improvement and planting plans.
  • Respond professionally to public and elected member enquiries, ensuring all communications are documented appropriately.
  • Assist with policy reviews and service level documentation to support high-quality park management.
About You

You're a proactive and organised professional with a strong background in horticulture and parks management.

  • A certificate IV in Horticulture or similar qualification, a current driver's licence and registration to work with vulnerable people.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing parks operations, including contractor oversight and project delivery.
  • Strong horticultural knowledge with the ability to prepare technical specifications and manage procurement processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, resolve issues and communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency in maintaining asset databases and planning for both short and long-term park improvements.
