Parks Management Professional

This role plays a pivotal part in enhancing the city's parks and open spaces through strategic planning, contractor coordination, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee external contractors to ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications
  • Develop and implement park care programs, liaising with community groups and coordinating weekend activities and rosters
  • Maintain thorough inspection programs for green assets and contribute to long-term park improvement and planting plans
  • Respond professionally to public and elected member enquiries, ensuring all communications are documented appropriately
  • Support budgeting, policy reviews, and service level documentation to facilitate high-quality park management
Requirements:
  • A certificate IV in Horticulture (or similar) and current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
  • Demonstrated experience in managing parks operations, including contractor oversight and project delivery
  • Strong horticultural knowledge with the ability to prepare technical specifications and manage procurement processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, resolve issues, and communicate effectively
  • Proficiency in maintaining asset databases and planning for both short and long-term park improvements
