Job Overview

  • Manage external contractors to ensure compliance with City of Hobart standards and specifications.
  • Create and implement the Park Care program, liaising with community groups and organizing weekend activities and rosters.
  • Maintain inspection programs for green assets and contribute to long-term park improvement and planting plans.
  • Respond professionally to public and elected member enquiries, ensuring all communications are documented appropriately.
  • Assist with policy reviews and service level documentation to support high-quality park management.
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A certificate IV in Horticulture (or similar), a current Driver's Licence and Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing parks operations, including contractor oversight and project delivery.
  • Strong horticultural knowledge with the ability to prepare technical specifications and manage procurement processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, resolve issues, and communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency in maintaining asset databases and planning for both short and long-term park improvements.
