Workforce Management Specialist

The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest charities, dedicated to doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better.

We are seeking a specialist to collaborate with managers across a blended workforce, providing expert guidance on employee management, issue resolution, policy compliance, and support for role design, planning, and capability development in a shared services environment.

This full-time, permanent opportunity will be based in Blackburn with hybrid working arrangements, requiring strong generalist experience, advising senior leaders, navigating complex employee matters, and building leadership capability across an organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with Managers Across a Blended Workforce: Build trusted relationships to support effective management of employees and volunteers.
  • Advisory Support: Act as a key point of contact for managers, providing timely, practical advice on employee and volunteer-related matters within a shared service model.
  • Capability Building and Coaching: Coach and equip managers with tools and knowledge to confidently manage both employee and volunteer engagement, development, and performance.
  • Risk, Systems, and Compliance: Guide managers in applying risk and compliance frameworks for safe and effective workforce practices.
  • Service Delivery and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate on projects, change initiatives, and service enhancements that contribute to improved manager experience and workforce outcomes.

About You:

  • A degree qualification in HR, Business, Psychology or a related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Understanding of volunteer management, risk, and engagement principles.
  • Understanding of P&C practices, employee relations, and compliance frameworks including awards, industrial instruments, and relevant legislation.
