
Child Mental Health Specialist Role

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team requires a Clinical Nurse Specialist to support the establishment of an integrated secondary level mental health service for emerging complexity in children aged 0-12 years.
This specialist nurse will work closely with families, universal, secondary, and tertiary service providers, providing integrated and holistic care. The Department for Education, Children and Young People is a key co-service partner.
As part of the Head to Health Kids team, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will:
- Support the development and implementation of programs and activities to improve client outcomes.
- Undertake assessments, care planning, and delivery of individual and group secondary level mental health interventions to children and families.
- Develop and maintain collaborative care partnerships with service providers across primary health, child health, parenting, paediatrics, child safety, education, and early childhood programs and services.
- Collect and review client and service outcome data, contributing to quality improvement processes.
To be successful in this role, applicants must have significant experience in nursing, preferably in a similar setting, and hold postgraduate qualifications or be working towards them. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team are also essential.
