Role Overview

This position involves working from Wednesday to Sunday, 9am to 3:30pm, where you will serve as a caregiver while also supporting the Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator.

  • Enhancing clients' quality of life by creating environments and activities that foster relationships.
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to community engagement that meets the unique needs of each resident.
  • Building connections within the local community to promote opportunities for active aging.
  • Ensuring effective communication while maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of all clients.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Essential qualifications in Individual Support or a related field.

Skills and Experience

  • Deep understanding of what constitutes meaningful engagement for clients.
  • Solid grasp of community engagement and inclusion principles.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to foster partnerships with various stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of Work Health and Safety standards and risk management.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
  • Innovative mindset with a willingness to introduce new ideas and concepts.

Expectations

  • Insight into the health, social, or aged care sectors.
  • Previous experience in aged care, community support, or leisure and lifestyle services.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a talent for building rapport.
  • A collaborative spirit and confidence in decision-making.
  • Proficiency in using electronic communication tools and documentation systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management.
  • Current First Aid certification.
