Job Opportunity: Wetlands Conservation and Management

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Policy Officer to join our team in a dynamic cross-cutting environment. As a key member of the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office, you will be working on national and international issues related to wetlands conservation and management.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of national policies as they relate to wetlands conservation and management. This will involve collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of national policies as they relate to wetlands conservation and management
  • Provide secretariat support for the national Wetlands and Aquatic Ecosystems Subcommittee (WAESC) and other committees as needed
  • Assist in the update of Ramsar site documentation, including Ramsar Information Sheets (RIS)
  • Provide advice on EPBC Act referrals and assessments as they relate to Ramsar wetlands
