Environmental Policy Officer Role

Protecting Australia's Natural Heritage

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to contribute to positive change by developing innovative approaches to environmental regulation within the current legislative framework.

The Job:

  • Work collaboratively in a friendly and hard-working team to identify and respond to emerging regulatory issues.
  • Engage widely with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective working relationships.
  • Lead and support the development of complex projects, contracts, and procurements.
  • Travel to locations across Queensland to meet stakeholders and develop a first-hand understanding of the industries, landscapes, and species impacted by environmental regulation.
  • Develop and implement business process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Stakeholder engagement, project management, and regulatory experience are highly regarded.
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field would be advantageous but is not essential.

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A keen interest in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of environmental regulation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to identify problems and solutions.
  • The ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
