About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and successful renewables developer as a Development Manager - Renewable Energy Projects. As a key member of the development team, you will play a crucial role in the development of utility-scale BESS projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Development: Support the overall development program and budget to meet project outcomes, including grid, resource, economics, contracting, land, and approvals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support all project stakeholder relationships, including First Nations, community, landholders, neighbors, and relevant government departments/corporations.
  • Due Diligence: Undertake due diligence on new project opportunities for viability of inclusion in the development portfolio.
  • Grid Connection: Support the grid connection enquiry and application process in conjunction with specialist consultants and project partners to achieve relevant grid connection approvals and contracts.
  • Early Works: Support early works associated with the development projects to meet safety, compliance, quality, cost, and time targets.
  • Consultant Management: Manage relevant consultants engaged to support with the project's development.
  • Reporting: Report on project status to management, the Board, and relevant external parties.
  • Compliance: Manage the project's compliance with approvals, licenses, and authorizations.
  • Contractual Matters: Manage project claims and contractual matters.

About You

We are seeking an experienced Development Approvals professional with a proven track record in development approvals, including planning and environmental issues. You will have worked on the development of renewables or general energy infrastructure projects up to and including handover to construction. Your experience should include development application processes, land/contract negotiations, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and other relevant skills.
