Senior Forester Opportunity

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Forester to join our team in the Coastal Region.

This key role involves developing and delivering fire protection and custodial programs, including pest management plans, land management plans, permitting, and agistments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing effective fire management strategies;
  • Leading a hybrid workforce to deliver forest fire protection activities;
  • Ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance;
  • Fostering strong relationships with stakeholders through effective communication;
  • Utilizing computer applications to drive business outcomes;
  • Meeting sector accreditation requirements;
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of our staff, Traditional Custodians, neighbours, communities, and visitors to our plantation forests.

The role is based in Beerburrum office, close to the beautiful Sunshine Coast.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in fire management strategies and methodologies;
  • At least 5 years' experience in the coordination and delivery of forest fire protection activities;
  • Proven commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance;
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills and ability to adapt quickly;
  • Bachelor of Forest Science or relevant tertiary qualification;
  • Sector Commander level accreditation (IMT accreditations a plus);
  • Unrestricted 'MR' class drivers' licence or ability to acquire.
