Disaster Resilience Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven graduate to join our team in Disaster and Emergency Management. As a specialist in this unit, you will contribute towards development and implementation of plans and programs that support the community to prevent, prepare, respond and recover from disaster events.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of exercises, community plans, local disaster management plans and subplans.
  • Support the identification of risks, mitigation and response activities to support Queensland Disaster Risk Management framework.
  • Support community engagement programs to build personal disaster awareness and education in the community.
  • Undertake research and analysis to inform the action and implementation of the Disaster Resilience Scorecard.
  • Assist in project support for the Severe Wind resilience program.
  • Support the development of applications and administration for State and Federal grant funding opportunities.

About You:

  • Hold a recognised bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
  • Completed within the last two years or be completing prior to commencement of the program.
  • Have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program and be able to work full-time.
