About the Role

Melbourne Water is seeking a Senior Asset Manager to join our Service Enablement Catchments and Waterways department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and technical direction in developing and applying management regimes that assess and understand risk, protect and improve the condition and function of developer constructed storm water quality treatment systems and constructed waterway assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply management regimes to assess and understand risk, protect and improve the condition and function of developer constructed storm water quality treatment systems and constructed waterway assets.
  • Provide expert advice and technical direction to the team on asset management processes and procedures.
  • Develop and communicate relevant approaches for prioritising the maintenance program for developer constructed assets.
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Asset Manager who can work at the senior level. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in asset rich workplaces, and have strong capability in data gathering and analysis, assessing risks, asset registration and maintenance in civil, waterway, dam, and headworks. They will bring with them a knowledge bank of skills and capabilities to evolve the asset management approach at Melbourne Water.

About You
  • Experience in relevant aspects of Retarding Basin and dam safety management processes and engineering principles.
  • Experience in all relevant environmental aspects of stormwater quality treatment systems.
  • Experience in developing effective networks in a diverse and complex multiagency delivery environment.
  • Experience working with asset management processes and procedures.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills which adds value to business and customers.
  • Proven communication and negotiation skills.
  • Extensive coordination, prioritisation and time management skills to deliver on long-term objectives while managing day-to-day challenges within tight timeframes and work unsupervised.
