The SCHN SafeHaven Mental Health Clinician is a critical role in providing high-quality, recovery-oriented support to young people aged up to 18 years who are experiencing suicidal crisis.
\Main Responsibilities\- \
- Lead clinical support and oversight for suicide prevention peer workers delivering the service.\
- Ensure co-design with individuals who have lived experience of suicidal crisis is central to all aspects of the service.\
- Collaborate with consumers to access clinical services if required.\
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.\
- Develop and implement strategies to improve service quality and outcomes.\
- Conduct regular evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.\
- Maintain accurate records and reports to monitor service performance.\
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.\
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in mental health and youth services.

- Tertiary qualifications and professional registration/membership as per essential requirements.\
- Postgraduate experience in delivery of suicide prevention support services with a focus on situational distress.\
- Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills.\
- A strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and their application in practice.\
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with colleagues and consumers.\
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.\
- Familiarity with relevant laws, policies, and procedures that impact service delivery.
