The role of farm operations specialist is a unique opportunity to join a progressive mixed farming operation in the Young area.

This team is focused on wheat, canola and prime lamb production, utilising modern farming techniques and industry leading technology.

As a key member of the team, you will have the opportunity to work on well-maintained farms with extensive improvements and modern plant and machinery.

You will be involved in managing the prime lamb operation, animal health programs, water infrastructure, fencing and property maintenance.

Operational responsibilities include working with owners, assisting with management, feeding and animal health programs, and operating and maintaining machinery for the broad acre cropping enterprise.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, experience working with sheep and machinery, and a heavy vehicle drivers license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with owners in operational aspects of the property
  • Assist with the management of the prime lamb operation and all aspects of animal health
  • Involvement in feeding and animal health programs
  • Water infrastructure, fencing & property maintenance
  • Operate and maintain machinery for the broad acre cropping enterprise

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Reliable and accountable with a willingness to learn
  • A strong work ethic, with the ability to work unsupervised and show initiative
  • A positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Competent experience working with sheep and machinery
  • Own working dogs an advantage but not essential
  • Tech savvy (AgriWebb, TrueTest)
  • The ability to work cooperatively with other team members
  • Heavy Vehicle Drivers License (or willingness to obtain)
