Job Opportunity

We're seeking passionate and future-focused students to join our Materials Engineering Cadetship program. This is an excellent opportunity to accelerate your personal and professional growth by combining paid work with study.

Cadetships involve a mix of part-time study and work, with university classes once a week. You'll learn about the relationship between the structure and properties of materials and their economic applications.

You'll apply scientific principles to solve technological problems in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Rotating through various departments, you'll assist in designing and controlling processes for producing, shaping, treating, and testing our materials.

Depending on your rotation stage, you may work within:

  • Lab environments, testing the quality and chemistry of steel
  • Operations teams, managing workflow to meet production schedules
  • Processing departments, ensuring quality standards are maintained and exceeded
  • Technical roles, solving production or quality issues and improving efficiency

Requirements

We welcome students from all backgrounds who are eager to challenge themselves, try new things, and be part of a future driven by innovation, bold ideas, and meaningful work.

To be eligible, you must be a Year 12 student ready to start studying Materials Engineering at the University or already studying or considering transferring into Materials Engineering.
