**Job Title:** Forest Conservation Officer

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Forest Conservation Officer, working closely with clients and stakeholders to deliver operational programs and outcomes in the Queensland region.

The key duties of this role include monitoring permittees and contractors, coordinating daily operations such as lessee engagements, measuring logs, assessing tree selection, and other operational activities. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

The typical week involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and potentially remote locations throughout Queensland. Staff are guided by policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and legislative obligations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Plan weekly activities with team members and supervisors to ensure effective collaboration and task completion.
  2. Prepare documents and maps for tasks, utilizing technical expertise to support operational decisions.
  3. Complete safety preparations, including vehicle inspections and safety equipment setup to maintain a safe working environment.
  4. Travel by 4WD to forest areas, which may involve long drives, to conduct site visits and assess environmental impacts.
  5. Set up camp and unload equipment, ensuring efficient logistics and minimizing disruptions to operations.
