Job Description:

The Director of Operational Accounting plays a pivotal role in bridging accounting and operations, driving process improvements and strategic decision-making. This position oversees key financial functions, including general ledger management, intercompany transactions, freight, and revenue recognition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead operational accounting processes for the U.S., ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
  • Oversee month-end close activities, managing teams and ensuring seamless collaboration across departments.
  • Manage a team of accounting managers and guide the broader accounting operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and growth.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity, leveraging data analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes, leveraging expertise to drive process alignment and shared best practices.
Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting & finance experience, with a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and operational accounting.
  • Proven leadership skills, including team management and influencing across departments.
  • Experience working in high-volume, low-margin environments, ideally in distribution, manufacturing, or retail.
  • Comfortable navigating large data sets and solving process inefficiencies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
