About the Role

Chubb is a world leader in insurance, providing commercial and personal property and casualty insurance, personal accident and supplemental health insurance, reinsurance and life insurance to a diverse group of clients. As an underwriting company, we assess, assume and manage risk with insight and discipline. We service and pay our claims fairly and promptly.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Claims Handling: Produce a high-quality work product on medium to large Commercial Property claims through prompt and professional contact with customers and brokers and through the effective investigation, reserving and adjustment of claims incurred by insureds.
  2. Administration: Assist the team with Administration tasks as directed by the Team Leads or Property Claims Manager.
  3. Customer Interaction: Act as Chubb Representative whilst visiting customers to gather information necessary as part of the claim process.
  4. Claims Evaluation: Make informed evaluations of damage and quantum.
  5. Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with Brokers to promote confidence and trust in Chubb's claims service.
  6. Service Provider Liaison: Liaise & build strong relationships with service providers i.e. builders and restoration companies.
  7. Fraud and Subrogation: Clearly identify potential fraud and subrogation issues.
  8. Complex Claims: Ability to handle complex technical property claims.
  9. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with strategic stakeholders to ensure a smooth claim process.
  10. Workload Management: Effectively manage and control volume of work & diary.
  11. Reporting: Identify and report internally on claims that are of significance to the business, including large loss reporting requirements.
  12. Claims Lifecycle: All claims to be handled from cradle to grave.
  13. Investigation and Documentation: Conduct investigations of all aspects of reported claims including potential fraud. Secure and/or file all supporting documentation and verify same for accuracy, relationship, and completeness.
  14. Reserving and Settlement: Establish accurate and timely reserves. Seek technical assistance in handling claims exceeding delegated authority.
  15. Documentation and Communication: Promptly and properly document all developments in the claims documentation system. Exercise good judgement in reaching final disposition of claim by evaluating nature of loss, damage, coverage provided and applicable limits.
  16. Negotiation: Effectively negotiate compromise settlements where appropriate.
Requirements
  1. Tertiary Qualification: Tertiary qualification (Degree preferred).
  2. Industry Qualifications: Relevant Industry Qualifications (ANZIIF) or studying towards.
  3. Experience: 3+ years' experience in handling Personal Lines or Commercial Property Claims.
  4. Communication Skills: Written and verbal communication related to claims handling.
  5. Negotiation Skills: Good negotiation skills.
  6. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  7. Influence and Negotiation: Ability to influence & negotiate.
  8. Technical Skills: Proficient use of Microsoft Word/ Excel and ability to construct claim reports as required.
  9. Time Management: Ability to manage self & time effectively.
  10. Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
