The Commercial division represents Allianz Australia's primary distribution channel, serving a wide array of clients including Commercial, Corporate, and international buyer groups across the nation. We are currently seeking a Senior Property Underwriter to contribute to our efforts in managing complex mid-market and corporate accounts, in alignment with our business unit strategy, underwriting protocols, and delegated authority.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating closely with a team of Underwriters, the State Property Underwriting Manager, and our distribution team to identify and underwrite profitable new business property opportunities through our key partners.
- Managing our most complex renewals and implementing effective retention strategies while strengthening relationships with our key broking partners.
- As a leading underwriter in the branch for the property class, you will significantly influence portfolio analysis and product strategies.
- Promoting and leveraging the Allianz Group in Australia to deliver comprehensive insurance solutions across various product categories.
- Working effectively with the Underwriting Team to enhance their skills, serve as a senior referral point, and nurture a collaborative underwriting culture.
- Monitoring performance to ensure that key financial targets, including GWP, Profit, and Pricing control measures, are met.
- Building and maintaining relationships with essential stakeholders within the branch and across other Allianz divisions.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in a senior property underwriting position, ideally with knowledge of relevant reinsurance programs.
- Exceptional stakeholder management abilities, with a talent for building relationships and influencing at all levels.
- A strategic mindset with strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Tertiary qualifications that enhance your ability to perform the job functions effectively.
