Occupational Rehabilitation Consultant

In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting individuals to return to work after experiencing an injury or illness. As an Occupational Rehabilitation Consultant, your primary objective is to develop and implement tailored rehabilitation plans that cater to the unique needs of each individual.

The role involves working closely with various stakeholders, including injured employees, employers, medical specialists, and other allied health professionals. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Leveraging your extensive networks and industry expertise to identify new opportunities for return to work.
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with employers who require return to work support for their organizations.
  • Clinical assessment and case management for injured workers, focusing on physical and/or psychological support to facilitate their return to employment.
  • Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care and support the journey from rehabilitation to healing.
  • Performing a range of assessments, such as functional capacity evaluations, worksite, ergonomic, or activities of daily living assessments.
  • Collaborating with diverse stakeholders to develop, implement, and monitor rehabilitation plans.

Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
  • Current unrestricted registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant industry body (AHPRA, ESSA).
  • Extensive experience in occupational rehabilitation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, or Nursing.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Passion for helping people rehabilitate and achieve their goals.
