Job Description

Hume City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Service Technical Officer to join our Assets team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, managing complaints and enquiries, and providing administrative and technical support to our Traffic Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver customer service efficiently and effectively manage complaints, enquiries, and requests on all services and operations provided by the Traffic Engineering team.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and courteous information and assistance to customers.
  • Deliver a proactive approach to resolving customer interactions through effective questioning, negotiation, and conflict management.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to all services provided by the Traffic Engineering team, including traffic, parking, and Councillor Enquiry investigations.
  • Perform any other duties as directed, within the skills and capabilities expected of a position at this level.

Requirements:

  • A relevant recognised qualification in Administration, Customer Service, or related field is desirable.
  • Current Victorian driver's license.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, both oral and written, influencing and negotiation skills with a commitment to delivering excellent and empathetic customer service.
  • Ability to understand and interpret Geographic Information System (GIS), traffic engineering drawings, and other relevant technical information.
