Senior Engineering Governance Specialist

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Engineering Governance Specialist to join our team. This pivotal role is responsible for embedding consistent, efficient, and compliant engineering practices across the organization, ensuring alignment with industry best practice and regulatory requirements.

  • This includes maintaining the end-to-end lifecycle of engineering standards, documentation, communication, and technical enforcement.
  • Collaboration with engineering, architecture, security, and governance teams to implement and uplift engineering standards and frameworks.
  • Operating and evolving central repositories (e.g., GitHub, Confluence) for standards, approved technologies, and related documentation.
  • Coordinating regular content for communications channels (such as engineering newsletters and technical committees) to ensure standards and changes are visible and understood across the organization.
  • Supporting technology radar and RFC (Request for Comment) processes, enabling engineers to propose, review, and adopt new technologies and practices.
  • Tracking adoption and effectiveness of standards, identifying opportunities for improvement and enhanced assurance.
  • Providing technical guidance in engineering governance activities, particularly around process lifecycle management and integration with existing systems and processes.

  • A strong technology background with an understanding of engineering principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Proactivity, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to take ownership of initiatives from conception to operationalisation and iteration.
  • The ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and be a strong advocate for driving change.
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor, as well as part of a multi-stakeholder working environment on large initiatives with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working with Agile ways of working, including tooling such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Demonstrated risk and cost management mindset.
