We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Peer Coordinator - Community Support Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in building community support for individuals experiencing distress by expanding referrals, sharing resources, and promoting education to integrate and strengthen responses.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with community members, service providers, and stakeholders to promote the Peer Coordinator program and its services.
- Provide support and guidance to individuals experiencing distress, connecting them with relevant resources and services.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement community-based initiatives that promote mental health and well-being.
- Conduct outreach and engagement activities to raise awareness about the Peer Coordinator program and its services.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in mental health, community development, and program coordination.
- Lived experience of suicidality or suicide bereavement.
- Ability to remain calm in a crisis situation.
- Knowledge of suicide prevention, mental health, and community services sectors or willingness to develop that knowledge.
- Experience with data collection and reporting, including the ethical handling of data.
- Relevant qualifications or commensurate experience in working in the mental health or community services sector.
- Right to work within Australia.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
- Satisfactory National Police Records Check.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Working with Children's Check.
