Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a seasoned professional in commercial construction to join our Projects Team within the Digital Buildings division.

Reporting to the General Manager - Projects, the Regional Operations Manager (ROM) will oversee project delivery by their team, emphasizing excellence in execution, financial outcomes, and client relations. They will foster the development of team members, ensuring they thrive in their roles and pursue their career aspirations while enhancing staff engagement and retention. Additionally, the ROM will cultivate strong partnerships with key contractors to secure ongoing work and mitigate dispute risks.

Daily Duties:

The ROM will cultivate a high-performance culture within the department, aligning with our core values and leadership expectations. They will serve as a true leader, promoting a collaborative environment characterized by openness, transparency, acceptance, coaching, mentoring, and enthusiasm.

Key tasks include:

  • Maintaining robust communication with clients and team members.
  • Building and sustaining strong relationships with key subcontractors to ensure loyalty, compliance, and project performance.
  • Managing the entire Projects department, including performance evaluations, improvement plans, and individual development strategies.

Expectations for the ROM:

  • Articulate and position Schneider Electric's value proposition for targeted customer segments.
  • Develop a team of product specialists with application expertise aligned to customer needs, delivering industry-leading solutions.
  • Exhibit strong presentation and communication skills to convey value propositions and support tender submissions and training sessions.
  • Understand and deliver on customers' technical requirements and commercial advantages.
  • Achieve departmental revenue and profit targets.
  • Act as an advocate for the company's vision and strategies, focusing on staff engagement and organizational priorities.
  • Guide the strategic direction of the solutions department, including resource planning, risk management, and project profitability.
  • Assist in contract negotiations with clients.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and adept at problem-solving in challenging construction environments. They are focused, conscientious, collaborative, and driven to achieve exceptional results.

Required Qualifications:

  • Project Management or commercial management certification (preferred).
  • Extensive network within the local construction sector.
  • Experience in project management within the construction industry.
  • Proven leadership experience, including managing engineering teams.
  • Experience in contract negotiations.
  • Essential industry knowledge, particularly in Building Management Systems, Security Systems, Mechanical Services, Electrical Services, or similar fields.
  • Willingness to travel locally and interstate.
