Lead Outage Coordinator

This critical role spearheads impactful programs in access and outage planning, driving compliance and reliability in the energy sector. As a team leader, you will be responsible for delivering scheduling, coordination, and facilitation of planned outages to ensure safety of personnel, public, and plant, achieving organisational targets, minimising costs, re-work, and impact on customer supply reliability.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Leading a team to manage outage schedules and coordinate network access across various locations.
  • Promoting a positive, productive work environment through mentorship and coaching, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring adherence to industry standards, including customer notification protocols, and implementing process improvements to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Monitoring and maintaining high performance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) targets, providing regular progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Contributing to data accuracy and risk mitigation in all planned outages, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Facilitating training and knowledge-sharing within the Access & Outage Planning team, promoting a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Key Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a strong background in operational or planning roles.
  • Leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring and developing team members, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of electricity distribution networks and compliance standards, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience managing complex challenges, with a focus on delivering results-oriented solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry safety standards, including the Code of Practice on Electrical Safety, and a commitment to upholding these standards.
  • Good level of knowledge and understanding of the Electricity Distribution Network elements, typical operational policies, procedures, reporting, and codes of practice.
