Operations Planning Specialist Job

The Operations Planning Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely creation of switching instructions and planning operating procedures to provide safe access to electrical networks. They must possess technical expertise in assessing and planning operating instructions, as well as understanding network limitations and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Outage Applications and create planning operating instructions.
  • Ensure the timely creation of switching instructions based on operational procedures and standards.
  • Quality control and assurance of submitted information.
  • Provide technical advice or training to colleagues on outage applications.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to align solutions and minimize customer impact.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor work to improve system reliability and capabilities.
  • Assist in coordinating team activities and interactions with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or an equivalent trade certificate.
  • Experience in the electrical industry is required.
  • Technical expertise in assessing and planning operating instructions.
  • Understanding of network limitations and regulations.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution network elements and construction activities.
  • Clear written and oral communication skills.
