Job Title: Outage Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled professional to coordinate the planning and execution of a scheduled outage at a power station in Newcastle, NSW.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring effective resource management, daily progress tracking, and reporting.

This role requires proficiency in project management tools, strong analytical skills, and the ability to create and manage data-driven reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules using project management software, ensuring alignment with plans, resources, and milestones.
  • Coordinate resource allocation, assigning labour, tools, and materials to meet outage requirements.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team leads to collect, validate, and update daily outage progress and activity status.
  • Generate and analyse reports to track performance indicators, including Earned Value (EV), and provide insights for project success.
  • Liaise with project teams, engineers, contractors, and management to ensure visibility into project timelines and critical path items.
  • Identify potential risks or delays in the schedule and provide mitigation strategies to minimise impact on overall project delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards throughout outage planning and execution processes.
  • Regularly review and improve scheduling processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in project management software: Hands-on experience in creating, editing, and analysing complex schedules, including resource allocation and critical path analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of earned value metrics and the ability to produce clear, actionable reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination for complex outage projects, preferably in a power station, energy, or industrial environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with supervisors, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with attention to detail to ensure accurate scheduling and reporting.
