Job Opportunity: Electrical Engineering Specialist

The NSW Department of Customer Service seeks an experienced professional to fill a mid-senior level position within the Engineering Team. As an Electrical Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical information, advice, education, and compliance services.

  • Advise on safe work practices and ensure compliance with work health and safety legislation.
  • Participate in strategic industry initiatives to address emerging trends and contribute to the national agenda.
  • Foster relationships with Industry Associations and attend industry forums to represent SafeWork NSW.
  • Conduct workplace visits and complex investigations into electrical incidents and fatalities.
  • Provide guidance on electrical engineering discipline to industry, workers, and other government agencies.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar technical qualifications.
  • Relevant industry experience in electrical system planning, high voltage management, forensic engineering, hazardous plant, and equipment design or management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing specialist advice and leadership regarding compliance with relevant legislation and electrical engineering codes of practice.
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and lead change management processes.
