Role Overview
Electrical Engineering InspectorAs a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing expert technical information, advice, and education that contributes to harm prevention and improvements in relation to hazardous Electrical systems.
- Provide technical guidance on safe work practices and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Participate in the identification, planning, and delivery of strategic industry initiatives.
- Facilitate meetings with industry associations and attend forums representing NSW.
- Conduct workplace visits and investigations into electrical incidents and fatalities.
- Offer advice, guidance, and dispute resolution on complex electrical engineering matters.
- Manage technical issues while balancing stakeholder interests and promoting WHS outcomes.
- Conduct research to identify and deliver strategies for electrical safety improvement.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar technical fields.
- Relevant industry experience in Electrical system planning, design, high voltage management, forensic engineering, functional safety, hazardous plant and equipment design or management, electro mechanics, infrastructure construction design, electrical safety, and more.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing specialist advice and leadership on electrical engineering codes of practice.
- Ability to apply electrical engineering principles in a WHS context.
- Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders, influence behavior, and lead change management processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Well-established resilience skills and ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
- High-level written communication skills and ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
- Experience in managing and leading programs or projects of work.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a timely manner.
