Job Overview

The Financial Economic Crime Specialist plays a pivotal role in our organization, responsible for conducting thorough Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Customer Due Diligence tasks, investigating and resolving alerts, Transaction Monitoring, identifying risks associated with complex legal structures, adhering to team performance metrics, meeting department Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Quality Assurance, sharing financial economic crime expertise with relevant stakeholders as a Subject Matter Expert, and driving continuous improvement in processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete and clear CDDs and EDDs
  • Screen for sanctions, PEPs, and adverse media listings
  • Perform event-driven and periodic reviews of customer transactions
  • Monitor high-risk transactions through Transaction Monitoring
  • Coordinate remediation efforts and monitor follow-up actions
  • Elevate issues/events to relevant oversight stakeholders
  • Drive process improvements in the financial crime domain
  • Collaborate on Fraud Risk investigations
  • Support the implementation of new policies and development of procedures
  • Assist in the deployment of new systems and delivery of projects
  • Conduct regular quality assurance reviews
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial crime prevention (AML/CTF specific)
  • Thorough knowledge of financial crime regulations (AML/CTF specific) and risk mitigation strategies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within established team SLAs
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Professional attitude and collaborative mindset
  • Experience in banking and financial services industry preferred
