We are seeking a skilled Financial Crime Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) regulations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (EDD) tasks, investigating and clearing alerts, monitoring transactions, identifying risks associated with complex legal structures, meeting departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring quality assurance, sharing financial crime knowledge with relevant stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement in processes and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing and clearing CDDs and EDDs
  • Screening for sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), and adverse media
  • Performing event-driven and periodic reviews
  • Monitoring transactions
  • Coordinating remediations and monitoring follow-up actions
  • Escalating issues/events to relevant oversight stakeholders
  • Driving continuous improvement in processes and procedures
  • Assisting in fraud risk investigations
  • Assisting in the implementation of new policies and development of procedures
  • Assisting in the implementation of new systems and delivery of projects
  • Performing quality assurance reviews
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial crime, preferably in AML/CTF specific roles
  • Knowledge of financial crime regulations, including AML/CTF specific requirements and risk mitigation strategies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high levels of accuracy
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Degree qualification preferred
  • Experience in banking and financial services an asset
