Job Overview

As a Senior Mechanical/Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering projects that meet stringent safety and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in piping design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning, with a focus on large, complex projects in the infrastructure, energy, and resources industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
  • Develop and implement detailed designs, ensuring specification compliance and technical integrity
  • Create technical documents required for procurement and commercial activities
  • Liaise with Project Controls personnel and participate in Model Review, Design Review, HAZID/HAZOP, safety in design, constructability, and safety reviews
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Senior Design Engineer experience within engineering contracting or consultancy organisations in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Mining & Minerals, and Infrastructure/Utilities
  • Proven Australian experience in piping design, including concept development, FEED, and detail design phases, including piping layout
  • Proven Australian engineering experience in piping fabrication, construction, and commissioning
  • Extensive experience in Detailed design, re-design, re-rating of the piping, design modification, alterations to existing plant, Pipe stress analysis, Fluid Induced Vibrations (FIV) analysis, Acoustic Induced Vibration (AIV) analysis
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge and experience of 3D intelligent design and project delivery systems and procedures, e.g. utilising Navisworks models
  • Application of brownfield experience and human factors in design
  • Worked in a multi-tasking environment under time pressures and deadlines
