Job Opportunity: Tax Dispute Resolution Specialist

KPMG Law's national team of tax specialists provides expertise to organisations and individuals in managing and resolving tax disputes. We are seeking experienced lawyers who have worked in corporate tax, international tax, and/or tax dispute resolution.

  • Preparing for and resolving risk reviews, audits, and disputes with revenue authorities.
  • Working with clients on complex ATO audits, preparing objections, briefing counsel, and advising on ATO Risk Reviews, Audits, Independent Reviews, tax litigation.
  • Collaborating with specialists across KPMG Law and KPMG to develop written and oral advocacy skills and provide legal advice (including taxation law and administrative law).
  • Participating in national engagements and working across all jurisdictions with partners and team members from other states.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in corporate tax, international tax, tax law, and/or tax dispute resolution and controversy in a Big 4 professional services firm, a law firm, or the Australian Taxation Office.
  • Ability to deliver fully integrated solutions and make decisions to best meet client needs, collaborating as required across KPMG's Tax & Legal practice and the firm.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in the delivery of quality services to clients, providing value add solutions to client's problems.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and project management skills, as well as an ability to motivate and work as part of a high-performing team to achieve outcomes.
  • Australian and/or other Commonwealth country legal experience.
