About the Role

We are seeking a skilled individual to join our culinary team as a Kitchen Steward. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards in our kitchens by setting and cleaning countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills, sinks, and cooking equipment.

You will also maintain food storage areas, receive and organize deliveries, support chefs and other kitchen staff with basic food preparation, cutting, peeling, and washing, and remove kitchen waste and wash dirty dishes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and sterilizing all kitchen equipment and surfaces.
  • Maintaining organized and clean food storage areas.
  • Receiving and organizing deliveries from suppliers.
  • Supporting chefs and other kitchen staff with food preparation tasks.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • A passion for delivering great service.
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience in a hotel environment is beneficial.
  • Experience working as part of a team and meeting deadlines.
  • This is a physically demanding role requiring attention to safe manual handling.
  • A high standard of cleanliness and safety at work.
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster.
  • Compliance: must hold a Food Safety Certificate.
