This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to take ownership of fixed asset management and drive process improvement across the finance function.

About the Role

As a Fixed Asset Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining fixed asset registers, capital project governance, and associated reporting. You'll support the wider finance team in achieving operational goals and targets, contribute to broader finance projects, and provide guidance to junior team members as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including their maintenance, management, amendment, and retirement
  • Prepare and execute end-of-month reporting and activities relating to fixed assets
  • Review work-in-progress and ensure accurate capitalisation of assets
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in process efficiency and system performance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to support asset governance and compliance
  • Share knowledge and expertise with non-asset accounting team members to raise awareness of policy and procedure adherence
  • Participate in business partnering activities to understand pain-points in asset management and develop solutions
Requirements

You will need to possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting or similar field
  • High-level experience with fixed asset register management
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver projects on time
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently, with drive and determination
  • Solid understanding of accounting practices and principles (AASB and/or IFRS)
Desirable Qualifications
  • CPA or CA, or nearing completion
  • Demonstrated experience in similar roles where Asset Register maintenance was a core function
  • Exposure to a range of ERP systems
