Learn to Swim Instructor Job DescriptionJob Description:

The Learn to Swim Instructor is responsible for planning, conducting, and delivering swimming and water safety education lessons in line with council policy, swim school, and water safety teaching guidelines.

  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the varying needs and abilities of participants, groups, and squads.
  • Collaborate with the Aquatic Programs team to advise on matters related to swimming instruction, swim coaching, and other safety matters.
  • Ensure adequate planning and availability of resources to support the delivery of learn to swim and water safety programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Applicants should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of child development principles, and experience in providing high-quality aquatic programming. Additionally, they should have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, respond appropriately in emergency situations, and maintain accurate records.

  • Aquatic industry certifications (e.g., CPR/AED, First Aid)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of child development principles
  • Experience in providing high-quality aquatic programming
