Reengage Children in Education

The North Queensland Region requires a dedicated Education Support Specialist to address barriers to school attendance.
This role involves working with vulnerable children and young people, building positive relationships with students, parents and community agencies, and developing innovative strategies for reengaging disaffected students with education.
As a key member of the Student, Child and Family Connect team, you will work collaboratively with schools, community groups and other stakeholders to provide support and resources to students and families.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working with vulnerable children and young people, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with school leadership and support teams to identify students at risk of disengagement and develop engagement plans.
- Conduct home visits and work with families to identify barriers to school attendance and facilitate reengagement.
- Connect young people and families to school and/or community-based supports where individual needs are identified.
- Work within a team-based case management approach as a contact for students, families or community members regarding educational engagement.
