Senior Database Specialist

As a vital member of our global cloud services delivery team, you will play a crucial role in optimizing database technologies and ensuring seamless operation. Your strong technical background and experience as a senior database administrator will be essential in driving continuous improvement, enhancing system availability, and streamlining processes.

The ideal candidate will have over 13 years of work experience in leading global operations teams, with primary expertise on SAP HANA and ASE database platforms. You should also have exposure to automation tools/scripting or processes, DB installations and upgrades, planning, setup, and implementation. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise and support in optimizing and tuning systems, performance optimization, security, backup and recovery strategies, high availability, disaster recovery, export-import, replication, and system copies.

We are seeking a collaborative and customer-focused professional who can organize and structure day-to-day documentation as needed. The ability to take on-call duty/weekend tasks during working hours is also required. Cloud knowledge, particularly experience with public cloud domains like Microsoft Azure, AWS, and GCP, is desirable but not essential. Professional certification of database platforms with exposure to project management tasks, including PMP and ITIL certification, is also an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deep understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) products in the market
  • More than 13+ years of experience as a senior database administrator in global operations teams
  • Exposure to automation tools/scripting or processes
  • DB installations and upgrades, planning, setup, and implementation
  • Providing technical expertise and support in optimizing and tuning of Systems. Performance Optimization.
  • DB Concept on Security, Backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, System Copies, high availability and disaster recovery strategy, export-import, replication is must.
  • Organize / Structure day2day documentation as needed.
  • Willingness to take on-call duty/Weekend tasks during working hours.

Desirable Skills:

  • Cloud knowledge (e.g. experience of working in Public Cloud Domains like Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP)
  • Professional Certification of Database Platforms
  • Exposure to Project Management tasks including PMP and ITIL certification
