Great Southern Bank is seeking a Senior Manager, Asset and Liability Management (ALM) Operational Risk to join the Market Risk team. In this role, you will support the Head of Market Risk to lead the team and ensure that Great Southern Bank has a robust risk management framework.

This position requires someone with solid experience in operational risk frameworks specifically for ALM and Market Risk processes, including treasury dealing, settlements, securitisation, crisis planning, and regulatory compliance/reporting.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy for ALM non-financial risk management for Line 2, working with key stakeholders across the Bank.
  • Subject matter expert across the regulatory requirements, processes, systems, and models used to monitor and make decisions about our non-financial risks.
  • Guide and mentor first-line risk management to identify and analyze key risk measures and provide an independent view of whether the business is in control, including analyzing the risk framework, process, and model design to ensure it is fit for purpose and working as intended.
  • Provide the Executive and Board with confidence that they are making well-informed decisions in the best interests of our customers.
  • Provide leadership to uplift regular and ad-hoc risk reporting as required for regulators, boards, committees, executive management, and leadership teams.
  • Lead reporting on risk insights that identify trends, patterns, and concentration to interpret changes to the risk profile and high inherent risks that would have a material impact for Great Southern Bank.
About You
  • 10+ years' experience in a similar role within the Financial Services sector.
  • Working within a three lines of defence model for managing risk.
  • Operational Risk and Compliance experience in a Treasury context (e.g., product control).
  • Knowledge of relevant financial services regulatory and compliance considerations.
  • Experience in managing and influencing multi-faceted stakeholders (internal and external) in order to meet competing priorities, different needs, and non-aligned expectations.
  • University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Commerce, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Applied Finance).
