Senior Policy Analyst Position

This role involves developing policy positions in areas including tertiary education, international education and student visa policy. The successful candidate will conduct research and analysis to support evidence-based advocacy, representing the organization at key forums.

The Senior Policy Analyst/Advisor will:

  • Analyse government policy to determine its impact on the organization's operations and objectives.
  • Assist with the development of a government relations strategy.
  • Develop advocacy plans for specific government relations campaigns.
  • Build and manage relationships with policymakers and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare submissions for government policy reviews and consultative processes.
Requirements
  • A degree with substantial relevant experience or extensive experience in policy expertise in tertiary education or complex regulatory environments.
  • A sound understanding of policy, operations and emerging trends in the tertiary education sector in Australia.
  • Experience producing high-quality written material, including briefings and policy positions.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing advice to senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
