Disability Support Worker Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Female Disability Support Worker with mental health experience to join our team in Brisbane. As a support worker, you will provide essential care and assistance to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life.

  • Promote and develop independent living skills in participants.
  • Provide person-centered support, assisting participants with daily living activities, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Support participants in participating in community, social, and recreational activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of support activities.
  • Assist with meal preparation, domestic duties, and medication administration.
  • Be reliable and flexible to fill shifts when required.
  • Incident reporting and sleep log recording is a must.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, family members, allied health services, and other support services.
Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience managing complex challenging behavior and high-intensity support.
  • Experience in mental health support is highly regarded.
  • Native English speaker due to participant communication barriers.
  • Experience with incident reporting and sleep log recording is a must.
  • Availability for day shifts and sleepover shifts.
