About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Domestic Services Assistant to join our team at VMCH. As a Domestic Services Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a range of domestic tasks to maintain hygiene standards in a home-like environment
  • Cleaning residents' rooms, including ensuites, furniture, and equipment, as appropriate, and communal and administrative areas
  • Ensure common living areas, hallways, and all other areas of the facility are maintained in a clean and tidy and safe condition
  • Ensure the safe storage, security, and labelling of cleaning materials in line with the MSDS, and in consultation with the Residential Services Manager, while being aware of the environmental requirements of cleaning products and their disposal
  • Replenishing cleaning liquids and materials while observing safety procedures
  • Report stock shortages, breakages, building, equipment, or furnishing defects promptly to the Residential Services Manager

  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees, and volunteers
  • Patience, common sense, and an understanding of client service
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work without supervision
  • Well-developed prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate with discretion and to maintain complete confidentiality
  • Commitment to work as part of a team
