About the Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Domestic Services Assistant to join our team at VMCH. As a key member of our close-knit team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe living environment for our residents.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out domestic tasks to maintain hygiene standards in a home-like environment
  • Cleaning residents' rooms, including ensuites, furniture, and equipment, as well as communal and administrative areas
  • Ensuring common living areas, hallways, and other areas of the facility are maintained in a clean and tidy condition
  • Managing cleaning materials and reporting stock shortages or breakages to the Residential Services Manager

This is a great opportunity for someone who values flexibility and is looking for a role with a minimum of 3 days per week. You will have the opportunity to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings, over a 7-day roster.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees, and volunteers
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
  • Well-developed prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work as part of a team
